Google has predicted that by 2015, 50% of all online adverts will include a video, which can be purchased on a cost per view basis. YouTube has now reached a stage whereby every 2 minutes sees 24 hours worth of video content uploaded.
Google have also been testing a new service through YouTube called TrueView. This is based on a cost per view pricing model and has been in “test” phase for just over a year. What will be great about this service is that the advertiser will ONLY pay when someone chooses to watch their video advertisement.
TrueView is expected to launch completely later this year (although this may be in the US first before it reaches the UK).
