The importance of SEO, SMO & SEM
This is a brilliant slide show presentation from Arto Joensuu, Head Of Digital Marketing at Nokia. The presentation talks about holding conversations more with your potetial customers, and how the sales funnel has now changed as the way people search for things on the internet has started to change.
This should start to demonstrate just how hard it is for Search Engine Optimisation consultants to keep up with the change in peoples searching habits.
Google Remarketing
Have you ever wondered why you see Google AdWords (usually image Adwords) that are closely related to what you are interesting in? All this happens, despite the AdWord not being “relevant” to the website you are looking at (which is not something you would usually associate with Google’s Adsense advertising).
Well this is a new development from Google called “remarketing”. If you have clicked on an image adword expect it to follow you around the internet. I believe it also works if you have carried out a Google search for a particular product or service (e.g. plane tickets etc.)
This is to help businesses reinforce their brand / sales message to you. I think it is a great service from Google personally, and I can see that it could benefit my clients tremendously.
